People Insight platform update (July 2026)

A quick insight: July’s platform update improves reporting accessibility, extends useful tools to more users and lays important foundations for the next stage of action-focused AI. From more flexible heatmap controls in iDeck to wider access to Survey Health Check and behind-the-scenes preparation for Action Insights, this release is all about making insight more usable and action more relevant.

In this platform update, we have focused on making reporting more accessible, giving more users access to practical support tools and strengthening the foundations for what comes next.

This release includes updates to iDeck, dashboard accessibility and Survey Health Check, alongside important groundwork for Action Insights. Together, these changes make it easier to work with results today while improving the quality and relevance of future AI-powered recommendations.

This is yet another strong example of People Insight’s approach to sharper listening and smarter action in practice: clearer reporting, better support for users and stronger foundations for more meaningful follow-through. Let’s take a deeper look at what’s evolved within the People Insight survey platform.

What’s new in this platform update?

This release includes a set of targeted improvements across iDeck, accessibility, Survey Health Check and platform administration, alongside important preparation work for Action Insights.

These updates improve usability in the short term and help ensure upcoming action-focused features launch in a stronger, more useful state.

    iDeck and reporting accessibility enhancements

This month’s update includes useful improvements to iDeck and dashboard accessibility, helping more users work with reporting in a way that suits their needs.

    More control over heatmap colours

The comparison page in iDeck has been updated so dashboard viewers can control heatmap colours for accessibility. This gives users more flexibility in how they view comparative data and helps make reporting easier to interpret across a wider range of needs and preferences.

    Organisation-level default heatmap settings

Admin users can now set the default heatmap colours for their organisation. This creates a more consistent reporting experience and makes it easier to align dashboards with preferences at organisation level.

These updates are designed to improve the usability of visual reporting and give organisations more control over how results are presented.

Wider access to Survey Health Check

Prism Survey Health Check is now available to Organisation Super Users and Organisation Users.

This extends access to a AI-powered useful survey design support tool, helping more users review survey quality and make stronger decisions during setup. It also broadens the reach of practical guidance within the platform, making it easier for organisations to build better surveys with confidence.

Laying the groundwork for Action Insights

Alongside the visible platform improvements in this release, July also includes important behind-the-scenes preparation for Action Insights.

These changes allow existing actions to begin being analysed and tagged in advance of the feature launch, meaning Action Insights will be able to launch with the action library already structured and ready to use, rather than requiring users to wait while that work happens afterwards.

This preparation helps create a smoother rollout and ensures the feature is more useful from the outset.

A clearer structure for Prism Context

As part of this work, Prism Context is being restructured into two distinct areas.

    People Initiatives

This section will hold the programmes, frameworks and initiatives that managers can draw upon when taking action. This could include areas such as leadership development, wellbeing support, communication frameworks and development programmes.

    Values and Culture

This section will hold the organisation’s values, desired behaviours and cultural expectations that Prism should reinforce when generating recommendations.

This separation gives the AI clearer guidance by distinguishing what actions managers might take from how the organisation wants them to lead and behave. In turn, this should improve the quality and relevance of the insights and recommendations generated within Action Insights.

    Glossary

This section allows organisations to manage the terms and words that Prism uses. For example some organisations might call their staff partners rather than employees. Prism can not use a client’s lexicon making the Prism experience even more tailored and bespoke.

    Platform refinements

This release also includes a number of smaller platform improvements that contribute to a smoother and more dependable experience.

    These include:

    • an improvement to the product tour experience for right-to-left languages
    • clearer behaviour on the Action Focused homepage when Focal Point is disabled
    • tighter controls around who can use Auto Translate for Client Library questions
    • stronger panel upload validation when handling empty columns in Excel files
    • a survey flow improvement to support mandatory questions when display logic is in use
    • improved continuity for Comment tabs in copied surveys
    • wider organisational access to Survey Health Check

All of these refinements help improve clarity, control and consistency across key parts of the platform.

What all this means for you

July’s release is about making reporting more usable now while preparing the platform for stronger action-focused support ahead.

Improvements in iDeck make comparative reporting easier to work with. Wider access to Survey Health Check puts useful survey design support into more hands. And the groundwork for Action Insights helps ensure future recommendations are better structured, more relevant and more practical from day one.

Taken together, these changes improve the reporting experience today and strengthen the foundations for smarter action tomorrow.
