At People Insight, we often see people comment on the state of their office or how it would be ‘nice’ to have better kitchen facilities. Whilst we may drool over fancy surroundings, we find office environment is rarely correlated with employee engagement.
Much better that people get a sense of achievement from working at their company, have the right opportunities to learn and grow, and are recognised for their contribution – all three highly correlated with engagement.
